Mountain bike Selfie

Back in the day, they used to be called self portraits. Nowadays they call em selfies. This one was taken with a Canon 5D Mark III and a custom chest harness while out on the trails in Park City this week.

Fall turns to winter

the first week of october brought the first winter storms of the year. Enough snow to play around a little bit, but a good sign that big snows are on the horizon. For a few days the landscape was striking. The contrast between the new snow, and fall colors at their peak was money! Its very uplifting to live in such a beautiful and ever changing environment.

Looking across the central wasatch, the stoke level rises!

the cottonwood canyons. millions of people will soon gather here.

Neil grinds out the first turns of the year down the shoulder. Beyond sketchy. Shark fins are looming beneath the snow.

Here is a little snurf action. Its always fun to sort of de-progress in a way by snurfing (no binders). Plus you only need a little snow and a grassy slope to have fun. I'd like to try and ride an entire mountain without bindings one day. going back to the roots.

Need a new house?

for $8,000,000... you get a secluded 20 acre horse property within Park City limits. It's got it all. Theatre, full bar/casino/billiards room, indoor pool, private beach and pond complete with 10lb rainbow trout, and a horse barn thats bigger than my house. This was the most fun I have had photographing a house.

My bro's first catch

My older brother Justin and I went out to break in his new fly rod. He caught his first fish on a dry fly and it doesn't get much better than that.

It's about time!

Jordanelle Reservoir is technically my local fishing grounds. It's so close I can almost hit a golf ball to it from my back yard. Its been pissing me off that for the last 5 years, I've never been able to catch a fish out of there. Although I never really tried that hard, I tried to fish it at least once a year. This morning I finally caught some fish out of that thing. 1 rainbow trout, 1 brown trout, and 1 small mouth bass. Now I can appreciate living next to the lake even more!

smooth conditions on the lake, perfect for casting out of the watermaster

first fish out of the jordanelle, a nice little rainbow. I also caught a brown trout that was twice the size of this thing, but he slipped off before I could take a picture of him.

And so it begins.....

The end of the ski/winter season is always bittersweet. I wish I could ride deep powder all year long! But as the snow melts off the high peaks, and the meadows become green and lush, another season approaches. Fishing season!!!!!

Most of my favorite rivers, creeks, and lakes around here are either still frozen, or are approaching flood stage. We still have a month or so before we really start getting into it. So yesterday my pop and I went fly-fishing in Park City to get a little fix. The local crik was very fishable, and I was able to catch a couple slab brown trout. Can't wait for summer!!!

A few years ago, many of the fish in this creek died because the water dried up. I guess it was more important to the private golf courses that their fairways stay green(???). Regardless, after a few good water years, the fish are back!
