First tracks in Utah

The first big storm of the year set down a blanket of snow over northern Utah nearly 3 feet deep. Its tradition for my brother and I to bust out the boards after the first storm. On some years, we'll be snow skating on 4 inches of slush. Some years we get lucky though, and our first turns are made through a layer of balls deep, blower, utah pow....

Help me win $20,000!

About a month ago, I was notified about an online video contest to win $20,000. Thats right, 20k for the best video. Well coincidentally I have been shooting HD P.O.V footage all season long so I decided to whip up an edit for said contest. Here is my entry:

If you'd like to see me win $20,000 (how could you not?), leave me a comment or give my video a vote, or both.   CLICK HERE!

Big Thanks!

birthday @ Pow Mow

On march 27th, my brothers and I celebrated our pops' 56th birthday at none other than powder mountain. My pop, like many utah skiers/boarders, he had never been to powder mountain. After a healthy serving of fresh pow last week (30in+) and bluebird skies slated for the old mans b-day, it was time he learned why we have been going there for the last 4 years. He learned pretty quickly why they call it Powder Mountain!

farming the pow at powder mountain is often times highly enjoyable.

a proper slope cut resulted in the entire chute getting flushed out with the debris running rather far down into the trees.

It would have been a bumpy ride had I taken the fall line down into the chute.

100k

pow mow perspective reached 100,000 views on vimeo today. figured I'd post it up.

watch in 1080 HD

On another note, winter is over. I'm definitely looking forward to the journey in the spring. It looks like winter weather will stick around for awhile though. Look out for the Saguaro adventures coming this spring.

Powder Mountain gets slayed! Again!

Spent 2 days at Powder Mountain with the Rossi snowboard team. Everything from 2500' vert pow runs, spines, pillows, chutes, cliffs, and trees were mashed out by our rather large crew of snowboarders( and myself, the lone skier).

Check out this fantastic story from the SnowRev crew. They did a good job of capturing the essence of pow mow...
